Four series have been produced, each consisting of 52 seven-minute episodes. English actor and comedian Stephen Fry narrates the English-language version of the first two series of the show, while Stephen Hughes narrates the third series, called Let's Go Pocoyo, and the fourth series. José María del Río narrates the Castilian Spanish version of the show. In 2009, a new spin-off show called Pocoyo World was created.

On October 12, 2022, the fifth series has been greenlit to commemorate the show's 20th anniversary which was supposed to release in mid-2023, but delayed for a 2024 release. Similar to the series 4 episode "Dragon Island", five of the episodes will be mixed into live action. In 2023, the franchise was acquired by Animaj. As then, the series is renewed for the sixth series around 2025 or 2026. A feature film is announced and would be releasing around 2027 or 2028.
