Corto Maltese is an animated series that was made in 2002 and is based on some stories of the character. Corto Maltese was originally conceived to have 26 episodes of 22 minutes, however it was decided to remove four of them due to adult themes compared to the other stories and to make a film called Arcana. 15 minutes of additional films and a greater care in the video sector have helped the transposition from animated series to film. After the film's release, the animated series was transmitted. There are some small defects in the original work due to the adaptation.
