Plot.

After the bloody battle against Hades, the goddess Athena and her saints are still recovering when they find themselves face to face with their newest and most formidable foe: the dreadful moon goddess Artemis. Artemis replaces Athena as the earth guardian deity and takes over the Sanctuary, turning Athena's Saints into her servants. Upon invading the Sanctuary, the Bronze Saints learn that Athena was banished by Artemis and decide to fight the moon goddess in order to rescue their true goddess and free the Earth from Artemis's ominous control.

The Knights of the Zodiac: Prologue of Heaven () is the fifth film of the series Saint Seiya (The Knights of the Zodiac). The film was released on February 14, 2004 and officially released on November 2, 2006 in Brazil. The official DVD was released on September 24, 2004 in Japan and in 2007 in Brazil. Contrary to the first four films in the series, it follows the anime chronology.It was produced by Toei Animation after the success of the Hades saga Sanctuary phase, and in commemoration of the thirty-year career of the Mangaka Masami Kurumada [no sources?]The film has a more adult focus, both in the vocabulary and in the plot, and thus it is no more a shōnen anime has already grown and made seinen[no sources?], just as most of its fans have grown and become adults. Unlike Hades' saga, which has very dark scenarios, this new film brings very clear and clean scenarios.
