Elizabeth Welch

Elizabeth Welch was born and raised in Colorado and will always be a mountain girl at heart. Currently, her home is in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera. She recently found another home-away-from-home in Germany, while playing Christine Daae in the German production of Das Phantom der Oper. She was grateful for her operatic roots while she prepared to sing this familiar role in German. Elizabeth began her career in opera, and spent time in Germany and Austria singing Susanna in Figaro’s Hochzeit, Féodora in Der Opernball, and Adina in L’Elisir d’Amore. Other favorite opera roles include Despina in Cosi fan Tutte and Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann. Elizabeth’s musical theater career began in Denver. Her repertoire includes Cosette in Les Miserable, Peggy in The Taffetas, Lilli in Kiss Me, Kate, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Maria in West Side Story (Denver Post Ovation Award), and Anna in The King and I, and her favorite childhood role, Marian the Librarian in The Music Man. She’s so proud to represent Colorado theater on Broadway.
