Andreas Vitásek (born 1 May 1956 in Vienna-Favoriten) is an Austrian cabaret artist and actor. Since 1991 he has also worked as a director.In 2014 he was awarded the Austrian cabaret prize. Vitásek's father was a Czech tailor who had emigrated from Prostějov, and his significantly younger mother came from Mostviertel. After the divorce of his parents he lived with his father.From 1966 to 1974 Andreas Vitásek was a student of BRG4 Waltergasse in 4 From 1974, Vitásek studied theatre and German studies in Vienna. From 1978 to 1980, he attended the theatre school of Jacques Lecoq in Paris. Since 1981, he has been working as a cabaret artist and actor.Vitásek has been married in second marriage to the theatre scholar Daria Biezunski-Vitásek since 9 September 2009, with whom he has a daughter. Another daughter (b. 1998) comes from a first marriage and a son (b. 1984) from an earlier relationship. He lives in Vienna and in southern Burgenland.
