Biography
Charles J. Stumar (28 August 1890 – 29 June 1935) was a Hungarian-American cinematographer who shot 110 English and German language films from 1917 until his death in a plane accident. He was a brother of cinematographer John Stumar. He was born on 28 August 1890 in Budapest, Hungary. He died on 29 June 1935 in Los Angeles, California. Stumar was inspired by director Karl Freund while working on the 1932 film The Mummy and adapted his approach when filming the 1935 Werewolf of London.
