La Grande Mare is a 1930 film directed by Hobart Henley. It is the French version of The Big Pond, a film of Paramount: in this version, additional French dialogues were added and the cast, in part, presents itself differently (the protagonists, in both films, are always the French Maurice Chevalier and Claudette Colbert, while some of the tablets were changed).
The subject is taken from the musical The Big Pond by George Middleton and A.E. Thomas.
