Wiki.

The Stade de Wimbledon is a French film directed by Mathieu Amalric presented in August 2001 at the festival of the film of Locarno followed by a general release on 13 February 2002 in France. The film is a faithful adaptation of the novel homonymous of the Italian writer Daniele Del Giudice, published in 1983, which, contrary to what his title suggests, is the story of a personal and literary quest in the border city of Trieste in Italy. The film is mainly interpreted by actress Jeanne Balibar, who is also the narrator of it. Well received by the critic, this work, aesthetically and at a very special pace, allows Mathieu Amalric to be considered also by the profession and by the public as a full director of French author's cinema, and not only as one of its main actors. The selection of the film in the final list of the nine films selected in 2002 for the Louis-Delluc Prize is one of the elements of this recognition.
