Even dying is the first film Fernando Sariñana makes as film director. It's the story of two childhood friends, "El Mau" and "El Boy"; a TIjuana cholo and a small band from Mexico City who meet there to carry out a great plan that would improve their lives. Both live with Chenta, the boy's alcoholic and delusional aunt. Friends commit some assaults to save money in what they plan to kidnap a rich businessman from Tijuana, a crime that will give them enough money to run away to Los Angeles and start again. The Boy murders a cop and the young people's plan changes completely.
