Scrooge is a 1928 short film directed by Hugh Croise.Since 1901 there have been numerous adaptations to Charles Dickens' novel Canto di Natale. This is one of the three short films made in England on the subject in the 1920s, but it is above all the first sound version, still of experimental character.Protagonist is the English actor Bransby Williams, with a long theatrical experience in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge since 1896 and considered one of the greatest Dickensian specialists.
