Otel·lo is a 2012 film directed by the professor of the school of cinema ESCAC Hammudi Al-Rahmoun Font, and starring Anna Maria Perelló, Youcef Allaoui and Kike Fernández. The production director, who has a nomination for the 2013 Gaudí Film Awards, is in charge of Aritz Cirbian.The argument revolves around the filming of Shakespeare Otelo's work (Otel·lo in Catalan), and the power relationship established between the director and the actors, which will lead the last to bring the most intimate feelings to the scene. It premiered in cinemas on 24 January 2014 in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, and in Madrid on 1 February 2014. It won the public award at the Barcelona Film Festival of Author (2013) and at the Atlantic Film Festival (2013), as well as the prize for the best film and the best leading actress at the European independent film festival ECU (2013).
