The film featured Manoj, Anita Hassanandani in her Tamil debut, and Kunal Singh, while M. N. Nambiar and Sukumari play supporting roles. The film, which had music composed by Sirpy, opened in May 2002. The film was remade in Telugu as Manchivaadu.
