Costumbrist history that has as its background the struggle of free journalism against fraud, intimidation, extortion and political crimes of the 1930s in Argentina. Don Torcuato Goyena (José Olarra) is a pharmacist whom Don Rosales (Federico Mansilla), the leader of the people of San Carlos led to the office of mayor in fraudulent elections because he intends to use it to gain benefit. Don Torcuato, who believes in good faith that it can be useful, had accepted the position against the advice of Jacinto Lucero (Rufino Córdoba), the owner of the village newspaper, who suggested not to enter politics and remain in his profession.
