Plot.

For her husband's sake, the famous actress Lena Meinhardt put her profession on the nail and ended her great acting career at the moment of her greatest success. When her husband receives the convocation, she assures him once again that she only wants to be there for him in the future. One day she meets her former director Langhammer, who is currently in charge of a front theatre. When he asks her to step in for a sick colleague, she cannot say no. She hadn't written anything about it to her husband so he didn't have to worry about it. Now, after the tour, she wants to tell him. Arrived in her Berlin apartment, she sees to her horror that her husband had made a short stop at home during a change of direction.

Front Theatre (German: Fronttheater) is a 1942 German drama film directed by Arthur Maria Rabenalt and starring Heli Finkenzeller, René Deltgen and Lothar Firmans.It was made at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin and the Cinetone Studios in Amsterdam. Location shooting took place in occupied Bordeaux and Greece. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Carlo Böhm and Willi Herrmann.
