Plot.

In order to finally get back to money, the impoverished Elector of the Palatinate makes every effort to set up his eldest daughter Liselotte with a wealthy aristocracy in vain, because with her burschic style, the young woman makes all the wedding candidates flee. Finally, the Elector succeeds in marrying Liselotte thanks to a political involvement with the Duke of Orléans. At the court, the freshly baked Duchess, who has found out the true background of her wedding, meets the King and it does not take long until she wins his heart with her carefree manner.

Liselotte of the Palatinate (German: Liselotte von der Pfalz) is a 1966 West German historical comedy film directed by Kurt Hoffmann and starring Heidelinde Weis, Harald Leipnitz and Karin Hübner. It portrays the marriage of the German princess Liselotte of the Palatinate to Philippe I, Duc d'Orléans the brother of Louis XIV and her adventures at the French court.

An earlier film about her life starring Renate Müller was released in 1935.

It was shot at the Spandau Studios in Berlin, Charlottenburg Palace and on location in Munich and Czechoslovakia. The film's sets were designed by the art director Otto Pischinger.
