Plot.
The opera cousin of the young Venezuelan director José Antonio Varela, "La classe", a feature film that links the moments of political and social tension experienced in Venezuela in 1989, is based on a novel by Francisco Sesto, the tape conveys the idea that "in life you always have to choose".The historical epoch that is gathered in the feature film is "a backdrop" seen from the eyes of the protagonist, but with the experience lived by the director himself, since, shows some of his memories of 1989. It was the one on February 27, 1989 when he had the popular revolt that was known as "El Carazazo".

La Clase (English: The [Social] Class) is a 2007 Venezuelan film produced by Venezuela's state-owned Villa del Cine and directed by José Antonio Varela. It is based on the novel of the same name by Farruco Sesto.La Clase is a romantic drama which contrasts the way of life between the upper and working classes, and one of the most well known projects produced by Villa del Cine. As its title indicates, the film relies on a presentation of class differences.It won awards at the Film Festivals of Mérida 2008 and Málaga 2009, and an honorific mention at the Iberian American Film and Video Festival Cinesul 2008.
