Plot.
News producer, Tim O'Hara gets himself fired for unwillingly compromising his bosses' daughter during a live transmission. A little later, he witnesses the crashing of a small Martian spacecraft, realizing his one-time chance of delivering a story that will rock the earth. Since Tim took the original but scaled-down spaceship with him, the Martian follows him to retrieve it.

My Favorite Martian is a 1999 American science fiction comedy film directed by Donald Petrie. It is based on the 1960s television series of the same name which Ray Walston starred in. The film stars Christopher Lloyd, Jeff Daniels, Daryl Hannah, Elizabeth Hurley, Wallace Shawn, Wayne Knight and Walston. A Mickey Mouse Works short, Pluto Gets The Paper: Spaceship, was shown in theaters with it.
My Favorite Martian was released in the United States on February 12, 1999. The film received negative reviews from critics and was a box office bomb, grossing $36.8 million against a $65 million budget.
