Maria studies at the university while her boyfriend Paul is an established journalist. Both are addicts. Maria and Paul try to detoxify themselves with the help of a specialized clinic but this does not last long: they come back from a journey during which they have shown themselves to be able to resist without drugs, both fall victim to addiction again. The consequences soon arrive.
