Plot.
Topaze, teacher, competes with the priest on his presentation of morals to his class. But reality, for example his sex appeal for the beautiful sex, cruelly teaches him that the principles have limits and nothing is more aphrodisiac than social success. Topaze (1936) is the first of two cinematographic adaptations made by Marcel Pagnol of his eponymous play. Pagnol, dissatisfied with the treatment inflicted on his work in the 1933 version, decided to turn his own adaptation.
